Kids from previous relationship?

Question

So how long should it be before you meet your boyfriend/girlfriends kids? 
My boyfriend has 2 kids from 2 previous relationships. Obviously I still feel it would be too soon for us cause we’ve only been together for 9 months. But we are serious and we talk about the future a lot and living together down the road. His kids are important to him and he loves them so much. I love him so much and really want to be a part of that portion of his life to. But he doesn’t want to tell his kids moms that he’s in a serious relationship until later when we decide to live together. That part stresses me out a little cause I think they should know sooner. 
I didn’t really have a certain question I guess, just my life process right now lol. Thoughts? Maybe someone’s dated someone with kids before? He only sees his kids every other weekend, so when he has them that’s his time with him and then me and him have each other any other time.

If he’s saying he doesn’t want you to meet them or them know about you until you guys are going to move in together... then I don’t think that’s right. My guess is this must be his first serious relationship and that his kids haven’t met anyone... so what, daddy has a new girlfriend, whose ALREADY living with him? They need to be able to process you first and on different levels ie: going out in public together (carnival, dinner, bowling) then leaving after it being done, doing things together first then maybe proceed into hanging out at the house with them for a bit ie: movie night, game board night then proceeding into sleeping over sometimes and then obviously they will be accustomed to you and able to build a relationship to you and that’s when you guys ASK if they are comfortable with you moving in with them and I mean, a lot of kids are pretty easy going... that’s my opinion. I met my spouses son after a while of being together but our relationship was already so serious I was practically moving in and to us, it wasn’t that soon but to his son he had no real time to get to know me or become accustomed to me and the transition was harder and I wished i did it that way.

I think I'd say about a year. But definitely before you live together so the kids can get used to you and at least know who you are before they come and stay with you every other weekend- I think them coming to stay with daddy and finding a stranger living there might be too much for them and would definitely get their mothers backs up.

Wow this is me !!!! My boyfriend has a child with his x wife of 9 years they have mutual friends and she’s always at family functions that I get no invite to because it would make her uncomfortable you gotta know what your getting yourself into the kids mother could be a nightmare and this will stress you out even more because it 2 different women instead of one ! Not everyone is mature and able to move on . It could be even harder contenting with his children and once you move in together everything is in your face and you’ll be more so forced to make it work since you made such a commitment this is tricky you should def meet his kids ! No reason to hide it ! Especially if he’s serious about you he should let it be known no matter who it’s with

I’d say around 6 months. I met my husband’s kids when we started getting serious, about 5 months into dating.

if it were me, i would wait at minimum a year before introducing a new partner. it’s just a sticky situation cause you don’t want kiddos to get attached to someone temporary. not that you are temporary by any means, that’s just my thought process.
