Best way to refinish crib?

My daughter's old crib is scratched...wanting to repaint for my son due next month. Thought about spray paint but that worries me if he chews on it. Anyone know the best non toxic way to refinish a crib?

I did mine In chalk paint. It is non toxic. Watch some YouTube videos. Chalk paint is amazing. I also painted his changing table and dresser with the same.

Get crib paint! Sand it down well and use crib paint to ensure it’s nontoxic. You could probably google search other brands but lullaby paint is the one we used
