How many embryos?

Hey guys, I’m looking at doing my first ivf cycle in the next month or so, depending on when my ovarian cyst goes away. I have PCOS and Endometriosis. I was wondering how many embryos you all transferred your first time and how you made that decision? Thanks in advance!!

We're transferring 2 next week! We PGS tested 8 blasts, 3 are perfect. I have three daughters, so we really want a boy, and all 3 of our perfect blasts are boys. Twin boys have always been a wish of ours, long before we ever had to think about IVF, so this feels like our chance to try for it. We know we want two, but I'm 40 now, and really don't want to be pregnant again at 44+.

We did one embryo because my RE talked about the risks to me and the babies if I were to get pregnant with 2 or more. I also had never been pregnant before so he did not believe I would have any issues with just one embryo implanting. My SIL also got pregnant with identical twin girls the previous year and I saw how rough her pregnancy was and all the complications she had. So that was an eye opener with going with just one embryo. Also, my clinic has a program where if you have at least 3 embryo blasts and you transfer one embryo, and if you do not get pregnant, the FET is paid for by them (you pay for meds). I had 4 embryos and qualified for the “elective single embryo transfer” program.

We transferred 1. We had no history of miscarriage, are both young, and the embryo looked strong to my doctor (I dont know the grades but he was pretty confident).
I think usually they'll allow 2 if you have a history of miscarriage or if you are of advanced maternal age, but it varies from doctor to doctor.

We didn't get a choice. They only let patients do 1 at my clinic unless in exceptional circumstances
