i’m majorly stressing because i’m going to have to go into student debt to become a registered nurse ! i’m guestimating at least 50 000 by the end ! i just feel like i’m the only one ! feel free to leave and advice/encouragement below!

I have my BSN, and I didn’t take out any student loans. I had scholarships pay for everything. 
See if you qualify for scholarships. 
I even went to grad school for another degree on scholarships and didn’t take out any student loans.

The rule of thumb, is never pull out more in loans than what you would be making at your perspective job with your degree.

Search for scholarships!! I am paying as a I go to avoid debt. It’s hard but if you can at least pay some as you go, your debt may not be so big at the end.

I have always wanted to be a nurse, but I don’t necessarily care about making the big bucks that i could make if I went to school long enough. 
I was at a university, but I switched back to community college and will be starting my first of two semesters toward my LPN in the fall. It’ll be only about $5,000 total and I have also applied for scholarships. Obviously where I was at before would have given me more opportunities, but I decided that I’d rather get done two years earlier and not have tens of thousands of dollars in debt when I’m done. It is possible to become an RN without a bachelor’s degree, they’re just less favorable than those who went to school longer.

I’m going to state university so the cost is so much lower (around 32,000 for four years), but I’m planning on continuing doing my masters and doctorate, so I’ll be in the same boat as you. I hate the American school system.

Girl, don’t stress. Schooling is the best option for you. There are payment plans and options to get your loans reduced. By the time I’m done, I’ll be well near $100k. I’ve stressed as well, but knowing I’ll be a professional in the career field I want and passionate about, outweighs the cons in it all. You got this. 💖

My school had great financial aid and scholarships, Talk to your financial aid office. Mine were really helpful, the woman was like searching for every possible save and the best plans 🙏🏾
