Has anyone taken prescription sleeping meds while pregnant?

Question

I take them for insomnia. My doctor strongly advised I stop cold turkey, however I met with pre-family planning prior to getting pregnant who said I should be fine taking them. 
Of course I will do what my OB says, but I don’t know if I can stop cold turkey. I’m definitely not sleeping at all without, so my plan may be to try to taper off. 
Has anyone been in this situation before?

I strongly recommend stopping ASAP. I stopped taking my depression, anxiety, and sleeping meds as soon as I found out due to complications documented or not being tested while pregnant.

No they are not advised I was given these by obstrician they help with sleep and are safe to use while pregnant

Have you tried unisom? Totally safe, o take it every night and have my whole pregnancy (22  weeks) and it also helps with the morning nausea
