Gestational diabetes

I found out Saturday I was pregnant with baby #2 🥰😁 with my son I had gestational diabetes. I think I’m about 5 weeks along now and I feel like I already have gestational diabetes. I have my first appointment April 29th. I’ve been feeling shaky and sometimes if I go 3 or 4 hours without eating something I feel like passing out. And the past week I’ve been extremely thirsty, like I can’t get enough to drink. Should I go ahead and go to my family doctor to check my sugar or should I wait 2 weeks for my obgyn appointment?
