Spotting at 17 weeks?! Scared!

Question

Is spotting at 17 weeks ever ok? Theres pink on the tissue after wiping. I've not had sex or anything else that would irritate the cervix. I'm so scared.

Make sure you speak or see someone. I'm a day off 15 weeks and this week I've had 2 quite big bleeds and I'm still spotting after the second bleed. I went straight to A&E for both of them. I had a scan on the day that my second bleed was happening in full flow and thankfully my baby is fine. Strong heartbeat and very active. They dont know why I'm bleeding. All they know for sure is that it's not affecting my pregnancy and the baby. Dont forget, you have a lot more blood volume when youre pregnant and your cervix does get a lot softer, so you have more blood vessels around your cervix. You could just have an irritated cervix without anything actually irritating it

Call your doctor . Any time you have bleeding or spotting you need to call  and let them know. No matter how little it is. Sometimes women spot during pregnancy and no one can figure out why but other times it’s an indication that something is wrong. None of us can tell you if it’s okay. You need to be seen by your OB

Bleeding shouldn’t be normal.  No matter how many people tell you “don’t worry” or “i spotted and my baby is fine” it’s not normal, don’t risk it.  You can NEVER be too safe when it comes to pregnancy.  I waited for 4 hours in the er to get a room because i was spotting one day, and it ended up being nothing.  But let me tell you, the peace of mind was DEFINITELY worth the wait and worth getting it checked out.  There’s never a moment where you should feel stupid or embarrassed to get checked.
