This smacks of a major ADA violation to me. He is hurting nobody by staying in his current school, and he is excelling. The ableism shown by the school board makes me so sad.

I thought all students had the right to be mainstreamed if they wished? That was part of the point of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Now whether that's the right choice, varies from student to student.In this case it sounds like he's excelling, so I don't get the issue with him staying. An hour drive each way is excessive, and not in keeping with the spirit of, "least restrictive education" in my opinion.
