Mirena IUD removal?

I’ve only had my mirena IUD for almost 6 months, at first I was crampy which I know is normal. But at the same time it felt like sharp pains. I just thought it would go away over time. Here we are now and I still feel like I’m getting stabbed by it in my right side. I’ve gone in for my check up and they said everything was fine. I’m just getting sick of being in pain from it all the time, it gets so uncomfortable to move, during sex it hurts. Should I give it more time or just get it removed? I have never had kids before either.
