California or dynamite rolls while pregnant???

My doctor said no sushi because of the raw fish, but is California rolls or dynamite rolls okay??? Or is it just sushi in general because it could be contaminated???

Cooked sushi is fine.  I eat it once a week from a reputable restaurant.  
I know a lot of women will say “I are raw fish and I’m fine.” But my aunt is an ER nurse and their #1 food poisoning cause at her big city hospital is raw fish.  The fact is, food poisoning can cause a miscarriage or stillbirth, so that’s not a risk I’d take.  Especially if you’re not from a coastal community where the fish is a bit fresher (even there you’d have to verify it was local caught because some sushi uses fish that isn’t local).

I still eat raw sushi occasionally. My doc said to stay away from high mercury fish so I stick with salmon. Also, no more than 4oz at a time (about 3 small rolls or 6-8 pieces of sashimi). Only eat at reputable places that you’ve never had an issue with. Also, confirm with the sushi chef that the fish has been previously frozen which kills any parasites or bacteria that would be present. Never eat fresh caught sushi when you’re pregnant.
