Anyone else?

Question

Is anybody just waiting for their bodies and their babies to come when they’re ready? All I’m seeing are posts about wanting inductions, wanting the baby to come early (the majority of us are still preterm, let those babies develop!) and posts asking for tips to induce labor. I feel like I’m one of the few that’s willing to wait and let things happen in their own time. I understand that women with complications need to have scheduled inductions and cesarean births. Unpopular option, but I think it’s selfish to rush your baby out and stop vital development for your own comfort or impatience. Motherhood is about sacrificing your needs for your child and it starts with dealing with the horrible symptoms of pregnancy.

I’m due in April and it annoys me when I see May moms already wanting to rush their baby out. I’m going to let mine come on it’s own but my doctor has an induction rule at 41 weeks but I plan to give my child that extra week. I get the rush I understand the pain...but a baby can still be on time even after the “due date” because they’re just estimates. But to each their own I suppose.

I understand waiting it out if you can. We can’t go beyond 38 weeks due to high risk. I’m older, preggo with twins and on blood thinners (so the twins won’t get a clot in their umbilical cords).  I’m personally ready, because the twins together are heavier than either of my singles but they will come when they are ready (unless we get to 38 weeks). Most twins come before that, on their own.

Being high risk we are so thankful every week that baby has stayed healthy and long. We were admitted last weekend and had a scare that we would have an emergency c section due to baby's heart rate. I just keep praying God let's our little one get stronger and stay put to 39 weeks. That's 6 weeks away and we can manage.

I’m with you! I also have other reasons for wanting baby to stay in as long as possible, I have a ton of plans in May (baby due the 25th), but I also want baby to develop as much as possible. At work I see plenty of babies, probably most babies, go home perfectly healthy at 35/36 weeks but there is a reason why 39 is considered full term. Plus, after my first I missed being pregnant so much after he was born, this time I’m determined to soak up every minute of it.

I’m not in any hurry to rush this kiddo out, and I want him to take the time he needs, but I do get a little nervous about going past 40 weeks, since I’m 39. I’m also conscious that both my husband and I were born before 39 weeks, and there’s so much to get ready!!

Agreed!! I’ll be 35 weeks on Monday & the thought of her coming before 38 weeks gives me so much anxiety!!
Don’t get me wrong I’m ready to see her cute little face and have my baby girl here, but she needs to be packing on them pounds 💗💗

I’m with you. I do not want my baby to come early. Unfortunately for me, due to hypertension, my doctors don’t want to let me go past 39 weeks m, but I really want her to stay til then!

My mom was 2 weeks late with me back in the 80's.
My first was almost 2 weeks late, had a natural home birth.
Our plan is to let this one cook as long as needed, so long as mama and baby are fine (so far we are 😊).

I agree!! It best for the baby to stay in until they are ready or until a doctor says they need to come out. Just be patient! Its only a few more weeks!!
