Struggling to eat

Food just tastes not exciting anymore, I don’t feel hunger and I don’t fancy anything to eat. I make my self a sandwhich and it just tastes bland no matter what then I leave half 😞 I don’t know what’s going on. All I want to do is drink coffees that’s what I enjoy the most. 2 weeks after my c section I’m not sure if half of it is the upset that it came to that in the end and I’m already stressed out about my body and what it will look like when it heals and when the swelling goes I’m scared 😞 I feel numb it’s weird

I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one experiencing this. I’m 5 weeks pp after a c section and I have no appetite. I could go the whole day without eating and not even notice- I have to force myself to eat regularly. Nothing appeals to me, even things I used to love as a treat. I hope this goes away soon.

Are you still taking painkillers? I had a c-section 4 weeks ago and I didn’t really get my appetite back till I was done taking those. All that sounded good was coffee and candy. I had to force myself to eat real food because I’m breastfeeding and sometimes I’d gag eating it. So I totally know how you’re feeling. It will get better though!

Loss of appetite can be a sign of depression, but it’s also easy to lose appetite when you’re exhausted! Hang in there and take care of yourself. Also know that not eating doesn’t help you lose weight. Your body is healing and needs nutrients to do so, so if your deprive yourself of those nutrients your body will hang onto that extra fat to support itself

It took me to almost 4 weeks PP to start eating regularly. We're 3 weeks, 4 days and I just ate three meals in a day for the first time two days ago.

I’ve heard of some mommy’s having trouble with appetite postpartum. It could be from many things, but I believe the hormones and new stressors contribute a lot. Try to do eat what you can and don’t beat yourself up. Maybe drinking a meal replacement drink for one of your meals may help make sure you’re getting the nutrients you need. Keep taking multivitamins, and it’s always good to keep an eye on your mental health. Not saying you have PPD or anything, but loss of appetite/interest in food can be a symptom to pay attention to IF there are others in addition to that.Maybe put on the food network or some shows like “chefs table” on Netflix when you’re breastfeeding/when baby is sleeping and see if anything jumps out at you or looks appetizing. Best of luck!
