If you could choose, would you have twins vaginally or just opt for the scheduled c section?

I know sometimes we don’t get a say in the matter, which I probably won’t due to my history of complications. Just curious what other twin moms would’ve liked to do.

I have delivered both ways. My first was a singleton and I was in labor for what seemed like an eternity and pushed for 5 hours. Then I had twins and had to have a c section. From the time my water broke to them closing me up was less than an hour. I was on hospital bedrest. So what I tell people is it was nice not labor I got or pushing but the recovery time from a section was 100 times worse for me. I'm almost 4 months out and still have pain. So if I had to choose, vaginally, hands down.

3 vaginal deliveries down, if I can make it this last time without having a section, I will be so thankful!  The 50% thing, you have to realize, takes into account all the very early deliveries and pre-ecclampsia deliveries, and gestational diabetes deliveries, and breech deliveries, all of which are more common with twins and have higher rates of needing a section. If you make it most of the way to term and don't develop complications, your chances of delivering vaginally are much better than 50%.

With my first delivery I had HELLP syndrome and a Uterine Inversion. So when I found out I’m expecting twins the delivery conversation came up right away. I was told 50% of twin deliveries result in C section (though I haven’t confirmed that statistic with my own research). She also said that with a twin pregnancy the uterus is put through more stress and will be very stretched out, and she worries that it might “slip out” again 😳. No thanks! I’ll happily schedule a C section and avoid and further complications!
