Help??

Question

So my daughter been calling my fiancé daddy since she first saw him. Should tell her that it is her daddy or wait till she a little older to tell her about her biological father since she doesn’t see him. He absolutely loves my fiancé and when she sees her biological father she gets scared and hides behind me. What should I do?

You need to ask your fiancé how he feels about it too. Does he want to be called daddy? Is her biological dad a father figure to her or a stranger? How long has your fiancé been in her life?

My oldest was 6 months when my now husband came into his life. He calls him daddy, and he even sees his bio dad. My husband is the one that does all the real.parenting, financially and emotionally. Hes only 4 now, but it was all his doing with the daddy thing. We didnt force it or start it, he did it on his own (after he was seeing his bio dad more often. I think he just put it together that the Male figure in his life was daddy. He refers to his bio dad as his first name when hes home even though I call him his dad or father.) I say explain to her as she gets older and starts understanding that your fiance may not be her blood or share her name, but he is just as much if not more than worthy of the "daddy" title as any blood father. My "dad" is my step dad too and he always likes to say blood makes you related, loyalty makes you family.
