When to throw out pacifiers?

Ok, so I’m a little bit embarrassed to admit that I didn’t realize you were supposed to replace pacifiers every month, not only if they’re broken or gross. My baby is only two months old but still has one that we’ve given him from birth. It’s perfectly clean and intact, and my boyfriend doesn’t think it needs to be thrown out yet. How often do y’all replace your pacifiers?

Psh nah, I clean sterilize and keep going, unless it's ripped or broken, I use the same ones

I only bought new ones if they were lost but my kids had the same ones for pretty much 12 months. On both there first birthdays they had to tnrow bottles and binkies away 🍼.. Messes up there teeth

I feel like that’s the equivalent of “lather, rinse, and repeat.” We just make sure to clean them often and sanitize them once in a while

The insert says every month. But we haven’t done it either. We’d be broke if I had to replace them all every month. 😂
They do get cleaned though. Personally, I’d just leave it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I steralise his every 24 hours sooo no I'm not throwing them away unless broken 🤷

I just clean mine. My son is going on 18 months and still has the same ones from a year ago. If it was gross or broken then I would throw it away.

If I cleaned/replaced everything as often as it says to, that’s all I’d spend my time doing. I’d have no time to spend with my child and definitely no time for myself. My 18 month old still uses a pacifier to fall asleep at night and while I’ve bought tons over time to replace lost ones, I’m betting some of them are still the originals I bought before she was born. Somehow she’s still alive and thriving though.

We wash and sterilize and use the same one until it tears or gets a hole. My daughter has been using the same one for 6 months. (She’ll be 10 months tomorrow.)
