Experiences on the depo birth Control shot?

I got the depo shot and I've spotted/bled the whole three months non-stop i really do not like it, I've also had random headaches which is supposed to be a side affect. I was wondering others experiences with the depo shot and what are other alternatives besides the pill because I always forget my pills.. I've been thinking about the patch but nervous of risks. Help!!
