Why is my 2week old SO hungry?

FTM here... He was eating 1-2oz every two hours last week and this week he won’t stop crying unless we give him 4oz every three to four hours. Is this normal? It’s about double what the pediatrician said he should be getting per feeding.

I'm a third-time mom (going to be). Babies cluster free a lot after birth. It's common. I wouldn't be too concerned. Just keep doing what you need to and feed, but also seek guidance from your pediatrician, too.

I’d listen to your baby. Mine did the same and I couldn’t believe it myself. I have a chart from the hospital that shows how he can have a growth spurt from day 3 on which maybe why he needs more nutrition at this time. Baby will let you know when he’s full :) trust his gut lol

I learned to not follow the standard amount. Every baby is different and can take more or less amounts. Give him more if he wants more. My baby was def taking 3-4 oz at that time too.
