Baby shower invites?

So I got married last Thanksgiving. We have a very small wedding/reception because we paid for it. Now i was told i can only invite people i invited to the wedding. So idk what to do

Some people think it looks like a gift grab if they weren’t important enough to invite to the wedding but then you want them at a baby shower.  Just do whatever it is you feel like doing though.

That’s not a thing, invite whoever you want. My wedding was 4 years ago and 2000 miles away from where we live now so if that was the rule for baby showers I’d be in trouble 🤷🏻‍♀️

That’s silly, even if it is a thing, people you want to be there should be there. Don’t leave someone close to you off the invite list just because of some rule. That’s actually a little hurtful to whoever you exclude, could be damaging to the friendship
