Open house baby shower?

Anyone else having an open house? Mine is October 10th! We decided to go this route because it's the hunting season and my family owns a processing business, so time is a little cramped for planning an actual baby shower!

We r doing this. We r having it this weekend. We are doing it because we don't particularly love games and I don't know my husbands family that well. Ppl can come stay as long as they like and to be honest I don't want ppl just staring at me as I open gifts

We are doing this too! Husband and I aren't the super social host types, so this way it'll be a lot easier in terms of being able to give everyone the attention they deserve. Plus we are renovating, and may or may not have our main sitting room finished in time

I wish we had done something like this. I did not get enough time to socialise with all our guests & felt really guilty afterwards.

We did this last weekend. It worked great! You get the chance to talk to your guests more and no one seemed to mind that we didn't open gifts in front of them.

My good friend recently did this for her birthday because she has a new baby and I think it's difficult to plan exact times with him and because people are so busy that it's hard to pin them down to a firm time. I love the idea! Makes a lot of sense when things are hectic. Plus, you get to socialize all day in a more relaxed setting.
