Let my 1 yr old touch pet frog

I recently bough to dumpy tree frogs. The previous owners said they are healthy and they've had them around kids. But I look up info on tree frogs and I know they can carry diseases and I'm scared for him and his sensitive skin Would you allow him to touch them and do you know any other info on frogs. Thanks
