Do you eat deli meat while pregnant?

This seems to be one rule that people have varying opinions on... wondering what people actually are doing.

The issue is in the risk of bacteria. Eg. For every 200 people who eat it, one person may get sick if it was old, or stored incorrectly etc. and you don’t want to be that one person. If you’re 100% sure it’s fresh and bacteria free then go for it. It’s not worth the risk to me. I’d rather wait 9 months.

I don’t avoid them but I also don’t eat them everyday bc they are not healthy in general. I live on the jersey shore and we have some really good sub places😂 so kinda hard to give up!

I ate it almost everyday with my first pregnancy because I craved turkey club sandwiches. It's not reccomended to because of the chance of Listeria but Listeria has been in things like cantaloupe and other fruits and vegetables more recently and often than lunch meat.

Ate it almost daily my entire pregnancy. There’s no reason you can’t. You’re more likely to get listeria from fruits and veggies

I work in a supermarket and the deli manager will give me the freshest cuts she has when I have my lunch. I’ve had no issues so far.
