How to parent

My LO is almost a month old and I’m wondering basically how to parent! He obviously used to be sleeping constantly as a newborn but now he’s awake more and more and I’m not sure what to do. I would usually feed him, change him and put him back down to sleep. Now he’s Awake. What do you ladies do? He’s too small for an entertaining rocker and can’t hold his head up for sitting watching for example baby tv and doesn’t have the attention span yet anyway. Sorry if this is a silly question, but I’m a first time mom still getting the hang of things and haven’t had any other babies in the family for practice.
