6 week old crying constantly

Hi, my 6 week old boy is constantly crying when he is awake, there are only short periods of time when he is happy in between feeds/naps. Is this normal?

It is driving me mad as I dont know what to do with him (after the initial checks of nappy ect)

I have tried using a dummy but he spits it out (I've tried loads of different brands) We use gripe water and I've tried infacol.

He is also feeding alot and never seems satisfied after feeding and demands more (breastfed with 2 bottles of formula at night) I am seriously thinking about giving up breast feeding as I cant handle being sat on the sofa all day every day!
