Is something wrong with my breastmilk?

Question

my son is 6 weeks. 
He is exclusively breastfed. 
He is very gassy and hes been spitting up a lot lately. Hes also crying a lot. 
Last night/this morning was awful. He cried non stop. He was super gassy, and spit up all over us, numerous times. 
I am a vegetarian. I'm trying to avoid all of the gassy vegetables and I'm limiting dairy right now. Theres nothing I can think of in my diet that's causing this....unless it's the dairy. 
Should I make an appt with the pedi?
Should I try something?
I'm open to all suggestions please

Dairy could definitely cause gastric upset in your baby. Try switching to a non-dairy like almond milk for a week or so and see if that helps his little tummy. You may have to go dairy-free.

Could be something as simple as a fast letdown.. that’s the issue we had and his problems went away for the most part. Babies tend to be pretty gassy with their undeveloped tummies, but he hardly ever has gas or spit up anymore

2 weeks for dairy to be fully eliminated but you r doing the right things. I made the appointment and it was over $200 for them to tell me this is NORMAL. If it’s not green & mucousy poo with hardly any wet diapers and lots of projectile spit up together then it isn’t an allergy. Could be some standard newborn tummy issues with reflux- try gas drops & gripe water. Keep him elevated for 30 mins after eating and always burp.

It takes two weeks for dairy to be fully out of your system with breastfeeding to see a difference. That being said, it usually causes mucus-y poops.
Babies are gassy and it could just be that he is gassy... doesn’t hurt to check things out!

My son is going through this phase right now and I’m not a vegetarian and I don’t eat much dairy. 
6-8 weeks is when they have the highest peak of digestive system development and gassiness is at it’s peak.  They also have a leap and a growth spurt happening at the same time.  
If it hasn’t been an ongoing thing up until now I would wait to see if it persists.  Just keep doing what you can to help get the gas out of him - burping, massage, bicycle legs, etc to make him comfortable

I’ve been drinking almond milk and eliminating gassy veggies. My son is 2 weeks and he spits up like projectile spit up and the dr said it’s reflux. So I’ve also been making sure to keep him inclined or upright after eating for at least 10 minutes. Today he burped his best and fell asleep on his own for naps without fussing and I watched my diet all day.

Last night I had ice cream before bed. 
and he was amazing all night! he went to bed at 8pm, woke up every 2 hours or so to eat, and went back to sleep every time for me until 8am. he wasnt fussy and the gas wasnt bad!

I would see a  lactation consultant. They are amazing!
