Controversial topic warning: Has becoming a parent made you more pro-life or pro-choice?

DISCLAIMER: I know this is super controversial & I honestly DON’T want a war in the comment section, so I ask that you please be kind to each other. I am asking out of general curiosity. I will be monitoring the comments & if it gets too heated I will delete the poll.

I became a mother for the first time 15 months ago. Before then I was pro-choice. I’ve always believed we should have a say what we can & cannot do with our own bodies. I believe it is not any of the governments business what women do with their bodies. I believe everyone should just mind their own uterus.

That being said, I would be lying if I said I didn’t think about my options when I found out I was pregnant. I had just turned 20, my father had passed away 3 months prior & I had only been with my boyfriend (who is now my husband) for 3 months (we became official right before my dad passed away). I was excited, though. I had always wanted to have kids but the timing was just so bad. My husband was also very excited but he knew how upset I was still about my dad. I expressed my concerns to him & he said he would support me no matter what I chose to do, but ultimately it was my decision. He said he would go along with whatever I wanted to do.

I chose to keep her. Mainly because I had been told it would be hard for me to get pregnant when I was younger & because I thought getting pregnant at that moment must have been for a reason. Maybe my dad had talked to someone at HQ & sent her to me, as wild as that sounds lol.

But, I think the whole experience made me realize even more how important it really is for women to have that choice.
