Is this normal ?

I was on birth control patch Xulane, loved it, I was on it since October 23, 2018 and got off a week or two ago permanently until I get insurance again. Anyway so last month i skipped my period, everything normal. For this month I tried to skip it again, it was good for a week then I started spotting and having breakthrough bleeding. So I’ve been spotting since April 2nd, the day of my next period. I’ve been bleeding nonstop since after 4 days of spotting. I basically had two periods back to back. I’m on day 21 of a regular flow to now heavy period. What is going on ? Am I gonna have breakthrough bleeding for the two months I tried to skip ? The month is almost over so I’ve been bleeding since the beginning of it .
