Is mothers day for step moms too?

Okay so Im married & I have a 6 year old step son. Im also 8 months pregnant. & my husband calls me today and said hey mothers day is coming up id like to do something for my mom you know since its her day & how he wants to go out his way and perpare everything she likes for her. Of course i agree to help out
But i honestly thought he would mention me too but its clear to me that only she came to his mind. 
In a way I kind of got my hopes up thinking this would be my first official mother’s day. 
But then again my first baby isn’t born yet. 
I’m interested to hear your opinions over this

I honestly wouldn’t be upset, yeah you’re pregnant but he probably won’t think about you being a mother till after the baby is born. I am a step mother to a 3 year old and I have been told happy Mother’s Day before but honestly I won’t feel like a mother till I have me own kids.

I bought a card for my fiancé since he’s basically already his stepdad. So, yes stepping in as a mom needs to be celebrated. ON TOP of you currently creating a baby with your body, you’re a mom and I really hope he’s going to surprise you with something. It’d be ridiculous to exclude you

I think it is. To me mother's day is for bio mom's, step mom's, adoptive mom's, ect. Anyone who fills a female parental role for a child. They don't have to be biologically yours for you to be a mom

Currently TTC #1 but my partner and I are t married but he has three boys who we both refer to as my step children making me their step mum and last year my partner and his boys gave me a card and gifts to say thank you for choosing to love them when I didn’t have to. It was so sweet. I hope he’s surprising you as a way of thanking you for being the step mum to his child.

You don’t know if he has something planned for you or not.  You could say something like I like this for Mother’s Day. I always tell my husband what I like for something. He not a mind reading.

Ugh. This will be my third Mother’s Day as a step mom and I know that I most likely won’t get even a “happy Mother’s Day”. I get it, kind of. ☹️😐

These are two different issues IMO. I’m a stepmom and I’m not acknowledged by my step kids (their mom makes sure of that). But it doesn’t bother me, never expected it. But I’m also pregnant and it would bother me if my husband didn’t somehow acknowledge that.

I’ve always celebrated my stepmom but she’s also been in my life since a was tiny.
