Can kids come to the anatomy scan?

We find out the gender tomorrow, and my kids are out for spring break. They're 4 and 6 and obviously can't watch themselves. Will they let them in with us?

My doctor specifically asks that no children be brought to the appointment. It takes around 45min usually to do the anatomy scan, and they don’t want the techs getting distracted.

Probably not. The DR needs to pay close attention to what they're looking at & doesn't need a distraction

My tech asked that we were quiet during the scan as she had to record it to send to the radiologist, so kids may interfere with this as they could get restless during the scan.

My office said they won’t perform the scan if kids are there - best to call ahead and ask rather than be turned away

It varies from office to office. My last doctor didn't care if you brought kids. The current one won't allow any kids under 18 unless it is a nursing infant of 4 months or less.

I’ve had ultrasounds at 2 different hospitals and neither allow children in the ultrasound room

My son was allowed and we gave him a cellphone playing a quiet YouTube video so he was a perfect guest! Haha

I would call and ask. The office I went to only allowed two people in the room and children counted.
