How do you know if your water broke?

Hi I'm 34 weeks 2 days pregnant. I am first time mom so I really  want to know how do you know if your water broke. I read many stories about mother didn't know her water broke. I pee a lot and I'm afraid if my water broke, I didn't know it. I know it's too early for me to ask this but I'm afraid of if it's happen to me. Also I often got Braxton Hicks so it's hard to know what is real contract. I know I sound stupid but I really want to know. 😂

You can’t stop the waters coming out but you can stop pee. When my waters broke it just pours out and I tried stopping it 😅 it feels slightly different and afterwards my cervix/vagina felt a bit stingy and weird. Hard to describe. My bump then felt a lot heavier

With both my babies my water wasn’t just one gush... it was gush after gush after gush....

My water broke with my first.  At first I think it was a bit of a trickle.  It started around 3 am whenever I would get up from laying down I would have a bit of wetness.  I got up an went about my day and I wasn’t noticing a trickle anymore so I assumed it was discharge.  Then at 2 pm I went to lay down for a nap.  Got comfy and then pop it really broke.  The sensation was like peeing but with zero control.   After that I leaked significantly and had to wear a pad all night till the next morning when they began oxytocin to really get the labour going.

It was pretty dang obvious for me... I had a little twitch inside and then out came all the liquid. It slowly leaked out for a while after that.

When your water breaks it will either be a big gush (can’t really miss that) or a steady trickle. A lot of time if you think your waters broken it is recommended to lay down with a pad on for 30 minutes to and hour then stand up. If your pad is soaked or wet call the OB. 
A good rule of thumb for Braxton Hicks is “they don’t hurt” bullshit mine hurt like a bitch. In fact my first pregnancy my OB felt bad for me because we had so many false alarms. Mine were even consistent at some points. The only way to truly tell if you’re having the real thing or not is to time them. I use “The Bump” apps contraction time. My OB always says if your contractions are 5 minutes apart, lasting one minute, for at least an hour to call or go to LD as that is typically labor!

Braxton Hicks are nothing compared to real contractions. You’d know if you were having contractions.
