If you had a C section did you have trouble with your milk coming in fast enough?

I’m having a C section at 37 weeks and am worried about my milk coming in afterwards. How long did it take yours to come in after your c section?

My baby was born at 30 weeks and the hospital lactation nurse came in almost right away and got me to start pumping. I had about an oz or more on day 1, 5 oz on day two and it kept going up. The hospital pumps are amazing!. Definitely use it if you can. And though its exhausting, be sure to pump about every 3 hours, even if you think its not working, it is! Your body knows the baby isnt in you anymore so its natural reaction is to produce food for the little one that has been delivery. And yes, even with a c-section.

With my 1st he was 7wks early and they got me pumping straight away as I couldn’t breastfed him milk came in on day 3, but my supply dried up after 2wks and I think down to not having him latching enough as he was to tiny and had to be tube fed. He was my 1st c-section my 2nd and 3rd c-sections, my milk came in again 3rd day and never had any problems with them. I’m now 5month into my breastfeeding journey with my 3rd and it’s been a dream no problems from day 1..

For most colostrum will be more than enough, but If you have to supplement, be sure to use a sns or syringe feed baby.
