Opening up

I've been dating and getting to know this guy for a little over a month now. Our relationship has been interesting. He's hard to read and I'm a bit guarded. He recently asked me to open up to him more. What do you think his reasoning behind it is? I'm a feeler and he's a thinker. We find it challenging to understand each other.
