Narcissistic Mom during pregnancy (triggers maybe?)

VENTING ALERT.

TRIGGER WARNING : I hate reading shit about narcissistic moms because it riles me up and I feel so much anger. So I’m putting a trigger warning on this. 😆

I feel like my mom is already making my pregnancy all about her.

SHE HAS ALREADY...

1) Threw a fit because I told her (and everyone) everyone needs to be updated with shots before holding the baby. She’s anti-vax. I’m not saying this to get into a debate about vaccinations. This household vaccinates.

2) Threw a fit about not being able to be in the room when I give birth.

3) is planning a baby shower for family and friends and grandparents, vocalized my dads long time (5+ years) live in girlfriend is not allowed and she refuses to accept she will be a grandma as well. (My parents have been divorced since I was 7. I am now 32.)

4) Refuses to merge baby showers and plan with my dads sisters and his girlfriend even though my time is severely limited with full time work and full time school. This wouldn’t be as big of a deal if I didn’t have to pick and choose where my friends have to go, and also spend ~4 hours at each (which I want to be clear, I’m grateful for the baby showers... but I’m taking three summer classes in a summer semester (eight weeks long).

5) tried to blame my friend that is going to help her plan the baby shower by saying she doesn’t just want anyone to come (this is not the case at all)

6) Told me to grow up because she just wanted to do something for her grand baby and make a fun entrance to the world for her

7) is not giving me the complete silent treatment, even after I sent her her grand baby’s heartbeat that she heard for the first time today (she always has her phone on her-constantly; I sent it to her this morning).

Thanks for letting me vent, ladies. Sorry if I sound like an awful person! Completely okay if you say I am for being so irritated 🤣
