Mine started with contractions. Light and infrequent. They never evened out. I stayed at home till my waters broke and it’s only then that the contractions revved up. Less than 3 hours after my waters broke I gave birth.

Mine sort of came on all of the sudden. A week prior I was having on and off what I thought were Braxton Hicks because they weren’t consistent. A week before that I had some pretty bad diarrhea which is supposed to be a precursor, but since I had no other signs, I just brushed it off. So then all of the sudden my water breaks one night, right as I’m getting into bed lol. I had no warnings of oncoming labor that day at all except for back pain that hurt a little more than usual. Contractions didn’t even start until I was 7 centimeters dilated and like 85% effaced. All and all I had an easy labor and pretty easy delivery as well. When contractions did start, my back hurt so bad I thought baby girl was going to rip her way out of it lol.

Water broke at 07:30 and about an hour later started getting contractions. Baby was born at 12:20. Quick and intense

I woke up feeling like I had to 💩.  Got up, couldn't go.  Laid back down, had to go again.  Sat on the toilet and realized the cramping was coming in waves.  15 mins later the cramping was so bad, it was hard to talk, breathe, or walk through them.  Off to the hospital we went!  The car ride was hell.  So uncomfortable and painful. 
They say "you'll know when you're in labor"... and holy shit, yes you will.  Nothing like Braxton hicks.

My first- Nothing different the day before. In the morning I felt restless and anxious, I had a very light bloody show. After lunch I had some period like cramping and then a few hours later contractions started. My daughter was born that evening. 
My second- I noticed nothing in the evening. I woke up at 4am having contractions. He was born before noon.

This is my 4th. With all my other ones, I start to notice period like cramping as my cervix begins to change. I am always induced prior to my due date, so I have never went into labor on my own or had my water break on its own. I get to about 4cm and fully effaced prior to induction.

Lost mucous plug on a Wednesday, saw bloody show Friday morning through next Tuesday morning. Was at 3cm and 80% effaced around 10:00am Monday. Started with contractions that kept me up around 1am Tuesday. Went to the hospital around 7:30am. At 9:00 completely effaced and between 5-6cm dialated. Stayed at 6 into the evening. Later hat evening I was 8cm got an epidural and had my water “released”. Gave birth around 11pm.

I felt like i was going to start my period, then had bloody show. About an hour later i hit active labor and had her 3 hours after that

With my first, I was having Braxton Hicks a couple weeks before. The night of delivery, I assumed it was Braxton Hicks again so I told my bf at the time to go back to sleep. Whelp, I realized it was true labor when I lost my music plug/bloody show. We immediately went to the hospital which was 25 min away and arrived when I was 8 1/2 cm dilated. Baby was ready to go. Sadly, I had to have an emergency C-section because she was breech. Contractions were definitely much more intense than the Braxton Hicks. Water never broke.

With my son I lost my plug in the morning then had contractions all day that weren’t too bad but pretty consistent. My water broke then things slowed down a bit and a couple of hours later things got worse. With my daughter I just started with painful and consistent contractions right away and she was born 4 hours later.
