When do the OB start checking cervix?

When does the dr start checking your cervix? I'm 35+2  and have an appointment at 36+3. That is my last two week appointment and will have to start going every week.

My midwife and obgyn doesn’t even bother to check before the overdue control, as it doesn’t really mean and tell you anything.

My OB checked only when I went in and told her I think I’m having contractions

My doctor this time said he will check when I ask. It’s optional and I plan to start tomorrow at my 34 week appointment. 4th baby

I think my OB checked started checking at 36 weeks. I was also high risk so they pretty much told me as soon as my cervix felt favorable they would induce me.

Doesnt mean anything. I went from 0cm to baby on my chest in 4 hours time. So for that reason ill be denying all checks but they normally start at 36 weeks

They checked after I was admitted to the hospital ;) They did offer to check at appointments if I really wanted to but they suggest against it because it doesnt tell you much anyway.

36 weeks of everything is within normal with your pregnancy. That’s what’s mine does.

With my first child they started checking me at 36 weeks. My second I went to a different practice and they explained that cervical checks are unnecessary unless there is cause for concern, I was never checked until I went into labor. I've got a different OB for my current pregnancy and they said the same thing as my last OB so I won't be getting any cervical checks until I go into labor.

My dr offers at 36 weeks. Theres really no point unless you're having consistent contractions. You can walk around at 3cm for a month or go from no dilation to labor tomorrow. They can be uncomfortable and cause bleeding too. Basically it will satisfy your curiosity, that's about it.
