Tantrum hell......???????

I thought the terrible twos reached a peak weeks ago, but suddenly things have gotten much crazier! He is throwing these hysterical tantrums once or twice a day over the smallest little things. Am I alone in this struggle? What do y'all do to curb this behavior??

I took off his diaper after he woke up (he’s potty trained) and he tried to put it back on for 30 minutes screaming and crying. I feel you.

Had a fully naked 2.5 year old flipping out because the shirt he wanted to wear wasn’t clean. 😂

Definitely not alone - we “go sit” and practice some calming strategies - we repeat the rules and “make it right” and other days mommy just can’t keep it together anymore and we yell 😫 I know I should model calm behavior when upset, but these terrible twos are terrible!

This morning I told him he could not play a game on the ipad. He rarely gets to so I did not think it was a big deal. Boy was I wrong! He flipped out screaming and crying and then hit himself in the head. I cut it off right there and told him that his behavior does not show me he can play ipad at all. He stops crying and starts wiping his face off telling me he is done crying. He still did not get ipad because we had to leave, but he was over the tantrum.

Mine doesn’t really throw angry tantrums just sad tantrums. Like she cried for 20 mins because the cat went outside..... or because she still wanted to watch TV... just random things. I have no advice but you’re not alone lol. Actually most of the time she starts crying over everything I don’t even know the reason. 😩

Mine doesn’t tantrum much so I’ve had it easier. The last few weeks he’s had a few moments- crying for iPad but I try to distract or just hugs him till he calms down. Has worked so far

We had two flip-outs before we even left for preschool this morning. One because I chopped up his tomatoes and he had "wanted them big", and the other because I tried to pick him up while wearing a dirty shirt (which, incidentally, he had made dirty!).

This happened to me shortly after his birthday, maybe January, and it was probably two months of holy shit what the fuck all day every day but he has grown into a slightly more reasonable toddler since then, so I do think the tantrums hit a head and then become more manageable 😂
