Anyone else really stressed about a baby shower?

I’m throwing my own and the whole idea of a baby shower makes me uncomfortable...it’s like “hey buy me stuff” and being the center of attention..it’s stressing me out. Plus I’ve only been to one baby shower ever so I’m not sure what people do at them🤷🏼‍♀️

My husband and I are planning our own as well. People say that you arent supposed to plan your own because its like asking for gifts, but hello this is our first baby so yes of course we want help with anything people are willing to get us 😅 neither of us like to be the center of attention so we're just doing a BBQ and bonfire get together at our house. I was going to do the "dont say baby" game, put our baby pictures on a table and have people guess who's who, have a calendar for people to write their name and guess when our sweet girl will arrive, and have a bin with paper for people to write parenting advice on. I didnt want to do the stereotypical baby shower games; they just arent me. Also, I dont think we're going to open gifts in front of everybody unless they want us too. We did do a baby registry, will send out thank you cards though, and will have plenty of food for everybody. It's going to be a relaxing get together. No need to stress! Just enjoy everybody spoiling you and getting ready for your sweet baby! 💜

It's all for fun. No one would bring you a gift if they didn't want to 😁. I made my mom let me help with mine because I love throwing parties. I don't like being the center of attention either but it was nice to have everyone get together and eat all the food we made and see the decorations. It was also nice to get gifts and not have to buy everything myself because I was a mess emotionally at that point not feeling ready. We would have been fine with nothing but it was do nice to have diapers and outfits 😁 you could put no gifts on the invites or only books  or whatever you want, it's for you and baby. You also don't have to DO anything at your party lol we didn't have one single game or guess the baby thing lol I think that stuff is silly. We had cupcakes and lots of food and a candy bar with bags for everyone to take home. I made favors for everyone as well and over all it was a nice day.  I'm pregnant again and were just gonna have a bbq and tell everyone if it's a boy or girl. I'm going to ask that no one bring  presents but I know people will because who doesn't love a new baby? Congratulations on you little one and try not to worry too much 💗

Me and hubby decided that I don’t want a baby shower. I’m totally fine with it! My husband’s family is huge and I don’t want to obligate people to come and spend money on registered gifts. Even with cutting the guest list short it’ll be close to 100 ladies. Also it’s definitely a lot to plan and after planning a wedding for close to 400 people 2 years ago I don’t have the energy to send out invites and do seating and all of that fancy stuff all over again! Everyone can come see the baby when he is born.😊 I’ve already had so many friends and family offer to buy the crib, high chair and stroller for us! It’s amazing to see how many people are willing to help out!

I’m totally stressed about mines because I’m not even planning my own your lucky it’s not a surprise my mom is doing me a surprise one in I’m so mad I wanted to do my own I’m just afraid it’s goin to be plain in not as I planned for it to bed I’m not being ungrateful but I’m FTM in all my friends did their own shower she was goin to do some pink ballerina shoes in plain pink theme I said oh no mam at least let me pick the theme so she agreed so I told her I wanted to do unicorn I had everything in my Amazon cart already still is there but she has decided to shop Around and mix things up at different stores I just don’t get it but it’s kool my next baby no one is takin advantage of me and how I celebrate it I already told my S/O if it’s not how I expected to be I am goin to cry

I was planning to throw my own shower too. Wanted it to be more of like a get together to celebrate our new tiny human! But was recently told I'm not supposed to throw my own 🤔 so my mom and best friend are going to help me out. 
Totally understand the stress of it. I am most dreading opening presents in front of people 😣 I can handle the attention. But not like that!
