Should teachers keep a whole class behind after the bell?
I’ve just had to go pick my sister up from town - in rush hour - because she missed her train. Why did she miss her train? Because her teacher kept behind her whole class
We live over 4 miles away and it would take her an hour and forty five minutes to walk home, or she would have to wait another hour at an uncovered train station by herself. If I had been in work today she would have had to have either walked or stayed. She’s only 14 years old and has been in this school with this happening since she was 11
The class was kept late due to two people misbehaving, yet a class of over 30 had to stay behind for an extra ten minutes
My point: should teachers be able to keep students past the bell when have not done any wrongdoing?
Is it fair for a teacher to punish a whole class based on the actions of a few?
Should children as young as eleven be forced to miss their transport home due to these circumstances?
