Best place to find maternity dresses??

I’d like to get a few for summer to wear to work that aren’t super expensive or too thin/cheap looking. Suggestions?

Don’t bother with specific maternity dresses for summer. If you must get something new, consider something loose/flowy that you can wear after you’re pregnant. I wore a non-maternity maxi dress to my baby shower at 34 weeks. In my experience, I didn’t start getting really big until about 7-8 months along. The only maternity stuff I got was a couple tops and a pair of jeans and a pair of shorts (my daughter was born in august) but mostly I wore the dresses I already had. 
My number one tip is if you’re planning to breastfeed, check how easy it is to access your boobs in any new clothes you buy. Wrap style dresses are great, low cut stretchy tops work well too, though after a while I also liked to wear nursing camisoles and lift up my shirts (you generally won’t want to lift a dress though 😂 so it’s good to consider top boob access for dresses). If you’re planning to pump, good idea to consider boob access in your work clothes too.

When it comes to summer dresses, you rarely need to buy maternity.  Most are cotton, flow-y and forgiving.  Old navy, target, etc.  are good places to start.  Sometimes, second hand stores have maternity sections (like where you sell clothes to and they resell) so you can call around.  I’m on baby #3 (and thankfully have been pregnant during the same seasons) and all I have are a few pairs of shorts, tops, 2 jeans, and a bathing suit.  I was able to size up too for a lot instead of paying extra for maternity (or should be cheaper!).  I end up wearing my husbands clothes around the house towards the end!!

I’ve worn non-maternity dresses all the way through my other pregnancies. I look for things that are loose fitting in the stomach area (especially with a seam under the boobs instead of at the waist) or that have a lot of stretch. I’ve bought some dresses with that in mind, but have also found that a large number of the non-maternity dresses I already own work throughout pregnancy, even at the very end when I’m completely huge.
