I went to the doctor today for my 36 week appointment. They were doing the strep test where they swab you and I mentioned that I’d like to go ahead and be checked to see if I’ve made any progress. I’ve been having Braxton Hicks regularly and they were 2-3 minutes apart when I went in for high blood pressure Tuesday.

They said sure and mentioned I might feel “some light pressure” 🙄🙄🙄

Y’all. That was The. Worst. Pain. Like it hurt way more than I thought it was going to. I was gripping my husband’s hand and whimpering like a baby! I know they all thought I was being super dramatic. They mentioned that it would be normal to experience some light spotting after.

Well, I sat up..talked to my doctor a minute and then he left. I stood up and blood comes gushing down my legs. My husband’s eyes got so big, I thought he was going to pass out. We got the doctor and nurse back in and I said “uh, I knew y’all said light spotting is normal but I didn’t figure this was”. They laid me back down and spent 15 minutes getting bleeding to stop. They said “this is uncommon but it does happen if we irritate the cervix”. We then monitored sweet boy’s heart rate for another 30 minutes and my contractions were even closer together. Ended up coming home and they said if I have to change my pad more than once that I need to head into labor and delivery.

Y’all I have never been so scared in my life. 😣 I’m good now, I think bleeding has stopped...but did this happen to anyone else when you got checked?

Oh and I was only 1/2cm so it wasn’t even worth the time/trouble 😭😭😭
