My midwife and obgyn doesn’t even bother to check before the overdue control, because it doesn’t really mean or tell you anything before you are in labor.

37 weeks I was 1 cm. I’m gathering I was 1 cm until I basically was in labor at 39w5d because after 4 hours of labor at home I got to the hospital at 8 am and was 4 cm and by 1130 am I was 10 cm so I progressed pretty quick once in labor. You can easily be even 3 cm dilated for weeks. Knowing dilation ahead of time isn’t really the best indicator of when labor will be.

35. I was at 3cm (okay knew because I went into the hospital thinking my water was leaking) and had him at 37w

We dont get checked for dilation because its pointless as it doesn't mean labour is near. Someone can be a 1 and progress within days some can be a 4 and be like that for weeks.

I didn't dilate till my water broke and I went into labor with my first kid. It really is different for everyone lol

My water broke at 41 weeks and that’s when I dilated!!! Had absolutely no signs of labour either!!!

Less than a cm at 38 weeks 4 days and had him after water breaking on it on at 39 weeks 4 days going in still only 1 cm dilated (but progressed to a 5 within 4 hrs)
