INSANE MOTHER IN LAW

TLDR: My mother in law is FAKING LOSING HER MEMORY FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS and lied about marrying a SEX OFFENDER

Where to begin....

Earlier this week, my husband and I discovered that my MIL’s husband is a registered sex offender and went to prison for aggravated sexual assault of a 5 year old girl. My MIL doesn’t think he’s guilty so she didn’t tell us or anyone else in the family. There are a lot of kids in our family.

Well.

We were appalled by her decision to take away our right as parents to choose who our kid is around and betrayed our trust. We informed the others with children in the family (they are all very close with my MIL) and only one of them besides me chose that they did not want their children anywhere near him.

He already is extremely annoying and impossible to hold a conversation with. Both my MIL and her husband are actual hoarder with tons of cat shit in his and my MILs house where you can’t walk through the house.

Anyway this isn’t even the crazy part

My cousin, the one who decided she didn’t want him around her kids, is literally DUE TODAY to have a baby!! And they won’t leave her alone to rest. They called her 20 times in 10 minutes and she didn’t answer but messaged them that she needed privacy so they SHOW UP TO HER HOUSE.

My cousins husband stops them at the door and says they aren’t allowed in so they force their way in and refuse to leave until she comes downstairs. They have a really steep long staircase and made a full term pregnant woman trying to have a drug free VBAC come downstairs to tell them in person that she doesn’t want a CONVICTED CHILD MOLESTER around her kids.

My MIL was upset. She then visited all the family members including us after the incident. (She doesn’t get out much so that was strange)

When she came to see us, she made a lot of weird comments about starting over fresh with the stuff in her storage shed etc.

*Side note: she has a long history of lying and hurting herself on purpose to get into the hospital for drugs so whenever she gets admitted no one really bats an eye because it’s so common. She is also around 400 pounds and does not take care of herself to say the least. She “had a stroke” last week and went to physical therapy. She got out on Tuesday. *

It’s Sunday and we get a call from my husbands sister saying my MIL fell and went to the hospital. Well apparently before the tests had even been done my MIL claimed to have had another stroke and has NO MEMORY for the last 10 years.

She claims to not remember that her mother died, that she married a convicted sex offender, or that she lives in a hoarder house.

I’m not buying it and neither is my husband.

The timing is awful convenient don’t you think?

Everyone finds out she married a sex offender (in secret I might add) and lied about it.

She confronts family and learns no one wants their kids around a child molester (shocking surprise)

She visits all her family in one day (she rarely leaves the house)

And the NEXT DAY she suddenly loses her memory from the last 10 years.

10 YEARS. Placing her right before she started off and on dating her now husband (the sex offender)

If she is actually faking it (and for her sake I hope she’s telling the truth) she is insanely selfish. Our cousin is literally trying to give birth and she couldn’t wait to stress her out until afterwards?

My husband and I are sick over this. His sister seems to be in denial but the evidence is so insane that there’s no way she’s telling the truth.

Btw the doctor hasn’t even evaluated my MIL to determine if she had a stroke or not.

Can someone really just lose memory in a snap like that?

UPDATE

the doctor said there is no sign of a stroke and they have no idea what’s wrong with her but she’s still claiming it’s 2008. My husband and SIL are struggling to figure out what to do.
