UPDATE ON MY POLYCYSTIC OVARIES
In July of 2018 I was diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) I had a collection of pearl like cysts all over my ovaries.
Roughly about 20 on each.
Along with a hormonal imbalance, low progesterone, and high testosterone.
Extreme irregular periods. I went about 9 months without a menstrual cycle. Progesterone pills did not help, but actually gave me a horrible reaction.
We tried to get pregnant for nearly 2 years, most of that time was a waste because I just wasn’t ovulating. Which meant I wasn’t menstruating.
I saw a few suggestions on this app and I did all the research I could and began supplementing.
I started taking Vitamin D, Vitamin E (oil in my water daily) (Got my Vitamin C from freshly squeezing oranges daily as my morning juice, no added sugar. Zinc, fish oil, Vitex (chaste tree berry) and myo inositol. While also taking geritol (I ended up switching to a pre natal two months after starting geritol) I took these for 6 months and found out I was pregnant In January. We had conceived Christmas night.
Just recently I had my 20 week scan and there were NO cysts on my ovaries anymore and they were no longer enlarged 😩
I’ve dealt with extremely irregular periods all my life and my doctor told me I just do not ovulate. I tracked ovulation for months and months and never received any positives on ovulation tests ever. Not until after I incorporated these in my diet and completely cut out fast food.

I wish I could’ve gotten an updated pic on my ovaries but we weren’t allowed to have phones in the room during my ultrasound 😩

But the tech kept taking so many pics and saying how amazing everything was looking, and how active my baby girl was. As soon as she put the lube on my tummy she kept punching and kicking me alll over 😩 truly such a blessing, I still cry!! I never thought I’d ever get to experience such a beautiful thing, nothing beats getting to feel your child grow inside of you. Half of me and half of the person I’m so in love with ☺️
Edit: My man also took fertile-aid as a last try option. He only took it for one month and coincidentally it was the month we got pregnant! If anyone wants that extra boost and to (not feel alone) I suggest these for the men!
All together everything I took was
(Started off with)
Vitex, Vitamin D was prescribed 50,000iui for 12 weeks, I took one pill weekly, vitamin E and geritol.
They suggest you don’t take vitex longer than 6 months, so at the 6 month mark I decided to try something new.
I purchased- fish oil, myo inositol, pre natal Vitamin with DHA, zinc and Vitamin E oil drops 5 drops daily in ur water, and we tried preseed twice
I highly suggest getting blood work done to see if you have an sort of deficiencies, I was highly deficient in Vitamin D and after only 2 weeks of starting supplementing, my period returned. And I also realized I had a hormonal imbalance and incorporated those vitamins in my diet to rebalance my hormones and support a healthy reproductive system. My mood, energy, libido etc all have changed so much by changing my daily routine and adding MORE water and drinking less beverages that contain high amounts of sugar.
As much as it sucks because I’m a sweets kind of person, cutting out the sweets helped SO much. Especially with acne and clearing up my skin.
If you’re not a fruits/veggie type of person I highly suggest trying to incorporate both fruits and veggies in a smoothie and try making one daily.
My favorite energy booster smoothie;
Strawberries, bananas, blueberries, peaches mangoes and kale (and or spinach) (if you experience nausea throw some ginger in) bananas also help with nausea, and any kind of yogurt of your liking (I like original vanilla yogurt) with either almond milk or soy milk and or any juice of your liking
I NEVER linked my irregular hormones to feeling so shitty on the daily until I started trying to conceive and once I started changing the things I was doing.
My dad used to always tell me when I was little “if you keep doing what you’re doing you’re going to keep getting what you’re getting”
I was in the WORST health in my life. I’m talking, was diagnosed with acid reflux, had a bout of cyclic vomiting for 10 months straight before I got pregnant. Went into kidney failure and kept getting infection after infection and my immune system was just extremely weak and I was in and out of the doctors monthly and constantly calling out of work due to being so sick all of the time.
I didn’t wanna believe it had ANYTHING to do with my diet because I didn’t want to have to cut out any of the foods that I loved.
I realized I was allergic to half of the things that were apart of my diet and it was extremely detrimental to my health.
Take care of yourselves ladies!!! How you feel stems from your daily routine! If you’re not happy, try changing your lifestyle.
