I’m gonna be the odd one out. I think it’s because wtf as the initials doesn’t flow and it’s earlier to just say what the fuck rather than double u tee eff. Lol just rolls off the tongue and it’s easier to pronounce

I’d guess it’s because “what the fuck” is a common expression. No one really walks around saying “laugh out loud” in common conversation.

I have no idea but in my head I say “whutiffuh” for wtf and “luohlllll” for lol and I still know what both of those mean upon first reading them

It says “translate” just prior to “wtf”. The way the sentence is structured tells you what to do; it says “translate wtf” so your mind does but it does not have the same response to lol. If you switch the sentence around and put “lol” first, you’re mind will “translate lol”.
