Which BC method would you recommend?

I'm 20 years old and have just gotten into a very serious relationship. My boyfriend and I have stopped using condoms and do not wish to use them again so I am trying to do my research to determine the best birth control option for me. I plan on making an appointment at Planned Parenthood ASAP, but I just wanted to get insight from women who have actually used them.

What would you recommend? What has worked best for you? And what are some of the side-effects you've experienced? Feel free to say anything and everything. I really would appreciate the input. Thank you :)

I take ortho tri cyclen as well. Works great! I love that I can stop taking the pills when ever I want and not worry about an implant or having to take shots or visit a doctor.

I like my nuva ring, i put it in once and don't have to worry about anything for a month and my SO says he can't feel it so no worries ☺️

I have been using depo and haven't had any real bad issues. I have a few spotting here and there but that's about it.

I take Trinessa for about 4 years and I like it, I haven't really noticed any side effects and my periods are light. I started on Depo when I was 18 and I gained 25lbs, it made my periods almost go away, I just had some spotting occasionally. Everybody's body is different and reacts to things differently, you may want to try a few different methods and see what's best for you. PP's website has info on every type of birth control available, I suggest you head there and take a look at the options before your appointment. You might also want to ask a female relative what works well for them because genetics plays a role in how well you tolerate different types of BC.

I love ortho tri cyclene, it helped manage my PCOS symptoms. But I got a blood clot from a surgery. Now I have Skyla, and it's made my periods go from soaking a maxi pad or tampon in 1.5 hours and cramps so bad I'd be knocked out. To so light I rarely need a pad, and my cramps are just little tickles.

Which BC method would you recommend?
