Alimony is a stupid concept to me. People need to make their own money and not leech on a dead relationship. 🤷🏻‍♀️

If it’s court ordered alimony m/spousal support then yes. But I believe it goes both ways- for instance I make more than my husband so if we divorced and went after alimony then I agree I should have to pay it if it was court ordered.

I accidentally clicked yes, but I meant no. I believe their only responsibility at that point in their kids. And I think that should be shared by both parents. The ex is no longer their responsibility.

It depends per situation. If you were unable to work during your relationship due to children, his business ventures, whatever else, yes. You do. If you’re equally working for averagely around the same amount, no he shouldn’t have to pay alimony. If you equally invested time and energy into their money making, yes. If they insisted on you not having a job, yes. God forbid my fiancé and I ever get divorced one day..... He KNOWS he is taking care of me for as long as I need even if it’s forever because I have helped him so much with his business making it larger and am part of the reason why he is able to make as much as he can now. It’s the right thing to do. Now MY parents divorce, they had the same amount of money, income, possessions. They split it all 50/50 outside of my dad paying child support. My mom didn’t deserve alimony because she made just about the same as my dad. There’s no reason she should have gotten it.

I gave my ex everything because he threatened to take my daughter and I was scared, but after i got my balls and told him to pound sand...i told him he pays for her while she's with him and I'll support her when shes with me. We only split school expenses.
