Zofran ??

My doctor prescribed me Zofran I am constantly nauseous and end up throwing up every night in the middle of the night and mid afternoon. I’ve read some articles on Zofran being linked to birth defects so I’ve only taken 2 pills. Does anyone have any advice/opinions on Zofran being harmful to developing babies? I’d like to sleep through the night and feel better but not if there is a risk for my baby.

I take zofran and wasn’t concerned of that at all. But it does cause headaches though but I rather take a headache then my head hanging over the toilet bowl all day. 🥵

Zofran is class B due to the early risks identified, maxalon is class A though - hopefully this helps!

I'm on zofran and have been for 3 weeks, I was told it's completely safe, also found this online

My OB doesn’t prescribe it until after 13wks. New studies have come out it can be a link to birth deficits. Obviously if your doctor prescribed it, she doesn’t feel it does though. I think zofran is a very debatable topic either way. I do whatever you think is best.

I had several doctors and nurses explain to me that one study came out talking about the defects, and they all separately said that the study was small and not very reputable, but they are required by law to disclose that information. I wouldn't worry. They said it was the safest out of the other anti nausea meds like promethazine and another one, but I'm forgetting the name of it.

I took zofran with both babies from very early on until about 16 weeks. Both of my babies are perfect. Your OB would not purposely prescribe you something that is dangerous.

My OB told me that zofran causes birth defects until 13 weeks, so she prescribed me promethazine instead for first trimester nausea. Ask about it, maybe?
