Questions about birth control

So I will be starting the pill as my main birth control soon. Previously, I've used condoms (I'm in my 20s and have been sexually active for about a year) combined with the withdrawal method.

Knowing this, my boyfriend wants to do without the withdrawal method or condoms, since I will be on the pill. On top of this, he mentioned spermicide.

Is the combo of these two birth control options a good idea? Should I say no to sex without a condom or withdrawal?
