To get a pump or no? *edit

I am committed to get breast feeding to work this time (2nd child) after my breasts randomly dried up three weeks with my first. I'm admittedly scared they won't work again, but I'm trying to also be confident.

My mother wants to replace my pump she let a friend borrow and never returned. I do want a pump but also decided to wait before getting one any case I.. fail again with my breast feeding 😓 I'll have a small formula container/newborn bottle set ready. But pumps aren't cheap (insurance isn't getting back to me about getting one through them) so I don't want to waste money. But I know it could also help monitor my supply.

My original plan with breast feeding:

Half feed on demand/every two hours. (I have all the little breast feeding accessories, even though I know I don't need them all) Then weeks down the line consider a pump so I could then start keeping a stock pile of milk. Then consider bottle feed with the pumped milk so when I go back to school, etc.

I have four days to decide what to do (delivery by cesarean) ladies, I'm desperate for extra opinions from the pros.

Thank you all, ladies! I'm clueless when it comes to breast feeding and want to try and get this to work! I'll get in touch with my OB on Monday about the insurance covering the pump, thank you for that heads up as well.

Fingers crossed I can get this right & working this time 🤞🏻🤞🏻
