Ear infection

So I’ve had a ear ache on and off for the last week at least. It isn’t so bad and will go away for a few days but keeps coming back.. I mentioned it to my doctor and she said it could be allergies. But I really think it’s an infection because I get them pretty often. Today I woke up with a lot of pain in my ear, I am 28 weeks pregnant. I know there isn’t much I can take for the pain or infection. I was wondering if there are any of you ladies who’ve had this and had any home remedies or if you were able to use over the counter ear drops?
