Can someone describe Braxton Hicks?

I know every woman is different, but some describe it as a tightening of the belly ? Well my belly gets super rock hard some times and usually there’s slight cramping. Is that Braxton Hicks ? Or ??? Help a girl out, or just describe what Braxton Hicks are for you

Mine usually feel like someone is squeezing my uterus and they don’t hurt
But last night i had the worst contractions ever and had to go to the hospital cause i thought baby was coming- apparently they qualify as Braxton Hicks even if they were the worst pain ever because they’re not making me dilate 
So literally Braxton Hicks is any kind of contraction that doesn’t make you dilate- i was told to focus on if i have a bloody show or if i can time them perfectly then it’s the real deal

That sounds like BH to me! For me, my whole belly will get kinda hard but it doesn’t usually hurt/feel crampy. Sometimes I don’t even know they’re happening until I touch my stomach and notice how hard it is. It never hurt with my first so I wasn’t sure I was getting them at all until a doctor told me I was. I thought it was maybe just the baby pushing really hard on my belly, but now I know that when the baby does that, it’ll just feel hard in one area and not all over.
